“Music is to the soul what words are to the mind.” ― Modest Mouse

“How is it that music can, without words, evoke our laughter, our fears, our highest aspirations?” ― Jane Swan

“Music is a language that doesn’t speak in particular words. It speaks in emotions, and if it’s in the bones, it’s in the bones.” ― Keith Richards

Music is just one of the ways that we can worship God. Sometimes words are not enough and we need to hear the melodies that run through creation whether man-made or natural. Here at Emmanuel, music plays a huge part of our worship. We have 2 music groups, one for adults and the other for children. There are practice sessions – dates for which are published in the newsletter – which mainly consist of singing. Especially for the children (but not limited to) we aim to teach to read music and learn the recorder.

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” (Colossians 3:16).
